Visual Director

Annabel was born in London and trained at the Wimbledon School of Art. As a set and costume designer for the stage Annabel has worked for a range of theatre and opera companies and her work for the Split Britches company has been seen all over the world. She founded English Pocket Opera Company along with Mark Tinkler in 1993 and has been the company’s Visual Director ever since.

Her principal passions are education and theatre but her experience is wide, having designed for the Lemon Trees and the Flying Pickets, been a resident designer at MTV and, in the early days of BSkyB, presented the TV art show for children, Kids Art.

As a teacher Annabel has taught art and design to people of all ages and abilities. Her private teaching to individuals and small groups centres on her Cambridge-based Art Academy but she has also led workshops in over 50 London primary schools and taught in a variety of other schools and colleges including Camberwell College of Art, London College of Fashion, Harrow School and Queen Mary College (University of London).
