Camberwell Pocket Opera Cinderella Cléopâtre Norma

The setting up of Camberwell Pocket Opera was enabled by over donations from over 400 generous individuals made up of early audience members and fellow professionals. They included the Marchioness of Cholmondeley (who has, since 1993 been the company’s patron), Sir Geoffrey Cass, Tessa Jowell MP, Julia McKenzie, Caroline Quentin, Simon Callow, Dame Josephine Barnes, Alun Armstrong, and Nicholas Parsons and, from the world of music and opera, Richard Jones, Simon Keenlyside CBE, Jane Glover, Andrew Shore, Stephen Daldry, Stephen Pimlott, Graham Vick and Deborah Warner.

Mark Tinkler (Artistic Director) and Annabel Lee (Visual Director), the two founders of the company were joined by Stephen Harris (then assistant chorus master at English National Opera and subsequently Chorus Master), the company’s first music director. Ken Lee designed a logo and provided artwork for the company.
